Star Power and Social Media Makes For A Great Non Profit Event

Today, the talented Alicia keys is having a concert in New York City at the Nokia Theatre in Manhattan. The concert is to raise money, help support, and raise awareness for World AIDS Day and the Keep A Child Alive foundation.

Not only are all the ticket sales going to the foundation but she is broadcasting on her channel on YouTube to raise awareness and getting them to donate via phone or telephone. The concert also includes stories of people whose lives were changed from the foundations. Alicia Keys also requested people went on her Facebook page to RSVP about the concert and get people interested.

This is combined promotional tool. Not only do these foundations have a strong well-known star who is also an activist to represent their foundations, but she also incorporated her social media sites to get the message wide spread and not limit it just to her concert attendees. She is truly doing a great thing to help out se organizations and the people they support.

This is a creative way to promote their organization by getting involved with the holiday spirit, raising awareness about their organization and bringing in donations. It is different from a typical promotion and is not following the new technology social media trend that s going on which makes it stand out more. The Future of Fundraising

As times are changing, tradiontal fundraisers are being wiped out. Although in my opinion, nothing is better then getting that face to face interaction at a fundraiser, talking one on one, getting out of the house and having a good time while raising money for a good cause. However as online methods become more and more popular, we are going to be less likely to see this as often.

Google AdWords is a paid service businesses/organizations/people etc. use to put up their ads when certain words are entenered in Google. You choose the words you would like your ad to be associated with and it will appear when someone Googles it.

Well for non profits there is the same idea called Google Grants. Google grants is offered for free to eligable non profit organizations. This will help for them to reach their targeted group by selecting key words that relate to their organization and brings people in. They are allocated a certain grant per week to the eligable ones to use their service.

There are other services offered for non profit organizations such as special non profit facebook pages and YouTube also provides a program for non profits to upload their videos.
